Happy Halloween!

It seems to me that I have been on-call most every Halloween, and today is no exception. Walking through our neighborhood these days, it is not unusual to find skeletons lying on people's front yards, Frankensteins and scare crows standing idly at the doorways, and battery-powered ghosts and ghouls dangling off of trees and occasionally laughing so devilishly you would recoil in horror! Shahrzad is planning to go over to Mehrdad's tonight in my absence and turn the lights off, so that the little monsters do not scare her this evening. Have a spooky Halloween, everyone!

At the the Home of our Ruhi Tutors

Last week, Shahrzad and I joined a few friends to celebrate the 50th birthday of Shah, one of our friends from Paradise Valley. We had a wonderful time watching him receive such gifts as a walker and a handicapped sticker for his car! Here a a few pictures that also include Hamid and Shohreh, and Elham. At his insistence, Hamid's picture was removed.

San Diego, Tijuana, La Jolla, Coronado, and more!

This past weekend, Shahrzad and I made use of the three day weekend and went on an excursion that included a quick trip across the border to Tijuana, Mexico, and then back to the San Diego, a quick visit to watch the sunset on the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla Beach, a visit to La Jolla with the Baha'i youth at Mandarin House, a tour of the US Naval retired ships on the San Diego Bay, and a brunch on Coronado Island at Hotel Del Coronado with its beautiful Victorian dome. San Diego and its surrounding areas are quite picturesque and we highly recommend that all should visit. Just remember to take a light jacket, even if you are Canadian! Enjoy the pictures.

A Few Pictures from Our Home

It turns out that the "cactus land" in Arizona has more to offer than just cactus. There are diverse flowers and plants, some of which we have in our own backyard. After my luggage was stolen in Montreal, I lost my digital camera. These are the first pictures taken with the new Canon Elph I have purchased:

Peyman Montazemi, then and now

One of my friends from the University of Virginia has become somewhat of a philanthropist and an international sensation. I figured I would post this blog to say that I have, at some point, rubbed shoulders with the giants! Peyman's first Album entitled "Man," where he performs his own compositions sung to the lyrics written by his father is out. His diverse style and fusion of the East and West are evident. Here are some pictures, perhaps a blast from the past at the University of Virginia!
